These are the most recent illustrations I did for Scholastic Education’s  BC Let’s Do Science, Thermal Energy magazine.

The magazine is very good print quality, should stand up to lots of students using it as they learn about thermal energy! For these two illustrations I used acrylic on illustration board, which gives nice smooth texture and bright colours. Below are some of my rough sketches, approved drawings, finished illustrations and then the finished product. 

P.S. A trick to save time transferring sketch to final surface when using acrylic on illustration board… I glue a photocopy of my finished sketch to the board, and then paint right on top!
