Rain Lake : Day 2

Rain Lake Cabin Day 2 – waterside scrub – 5×7 watercolor – AVAILABLE

Our second day in Algonquin Park on Rain Lake, was another smooth, glassy day on the water. I did a couple studies of the landscape, and finished up one I started the night before of the scrubby plants along the shore. (Yes those are red leaves, autumn is coming!)

After breakfast we did a portage to McCraney Lake, which was about a 10km round trip… with a 1km portage in the middle , where we trudged through 26 large mud puddles with our canoe there and back! You only do that trip when you know how beautiful it is on the other side… I took so many photos, am planning to paint some BIG paintings of the views there.
