This is a little acrylic on canvas I painted en plein air at Andrews Farm & Winery. It was an overcast day, cool and wet… I brought a picnic blanket to sit on and paint from, but quickly realized the best view was from a standing position. So I basically held my little canvas & palette, and painted standing up… staying out of the way of the tractors! I painted it on a 12×12 canvas I had primed with yellow, as you can see from the photos. You can see the flecks of yellow poking through. And I had a turkey friend circling me looking for food while I worked which was a different experience! Couldn’t leave without filling my basket with dahlias from the field… still blooming like crazy, and you can pick-your-own at the farm.

You’d love it Rich, autumn in Ontario is amazing… heading up north this weekend with paintbrush in hand, where the cool air turns everything into vibrant reds and yellows. Will share when we are back! It is Thanksgiving this weekend here in Canada… so wishing an early happy thanksgiving to you both! Hugs to you & Diane, too!
