Was a gorgeous day today, so went into The Park with my hubby and kids. Have wanted to paint en plein air at Algonquin for ages, so nice to have a go! Was a bit breezy on Rain Lake which made paddling in and holding still to paint quite challenging! While there I painted a few watercolours from the canoe in the middle of the lake, and a small 12×12 inch acrylic on canvas.
I painted on the shore with my daughter, Ruby, busily drawing birds beside me. The area was just big enough for her to sit, and me to stand and paint holding the canvas. I chose this spot as I liked the lichen on the trees, the warm dry pine needles, and black water along the edges.

I love the way you’ve interpreted what you can see!
